Get Involved

Hold Them Accountable. Start Here.

Real change starts when the public speaks — and refuses to be ignored.

Protect Lassen doesn’t just expose corruption. We empower people to confront it. Whether it’s environmental degradation, missing records, or government misconduct, officials need to hear from the people they work for.

How You Can Help Right Now

1. Email Public Officials
Here is a list of local Departments and Emails – Email List Click Here

2. CC Us
Always CC: watch@protectlassen.org
This helps us document public pressure and track which agencies respond — and which ignore the law.

3. Forward Any Responses
If you receive a reply, forward it to watch@protectlassen.org so we can archive it and expose evasive, delayed, or misleading answers.

4. Stay Loud. Stay Public.
The more messages they get, the harder it is to ignore us. Delay and corruption thrive in silence. Public pressure brings it to light.

More Ways to Get Involved

Spread the Word
This site only works if people see it. Share protectlassen.org with neighbors, friends, and anyone affected by government inaction or environmental harm. Post on social media, email local groups, print flyers — whatever it takes.

Volunteer or Contribute Skills
Are you a researcher, lawyer, designer, writer, or activist? We welcome skilled volunteers who want to support the mission directly. Your time and expertise matter.

Submit Tips and Evidence
Got documents, photos, or information? Use our Expose page to submit it — anonymously if needed. We review every credible lead.

Leave Public Google Reviews
If an office, agency, or public employee has ignored your concerns, delayed records, or refused to provide answers — leave a Google review for their office.
Be specific:

  • Name the official or public servant involved
  • Include the date, the issue, and whether they responded
  • Describe your situation and how it impacted your life, health, land, or trust in public agencies
These reviews help warn others and hold officials accountable in the public record.

Attend Local Meetings
Show up. Take notes. Record public comments. Officials behave differently when the public is watching — and their own words can be used to hold them accountable.

Help Document Violations
Volunteer to track agency activity, submit records requests, or document environmental impacts. No experience needed — just a willingness to help.

Support the Mission
Every investigation, legal challenge, and outreach effort takes resources.
100% of donations support Protect Lassen’s work.

Sign the Safe Water, Safe Land Petition!

Every year, millions in taxpayer-funded grants are used to spray toxic herbicides across thousands of acres in Lassen County — yet not a single dollar goes toward testing the water, soil, or long-term impacts.

No agency is monitoring what ends up in our creeks, wells, grazing land, or forests.
Not CAL FIRE.

Not the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board.

Not the Lassen County Agricultural Department, under Commissioner Craig Hemphill.

Not Lassen Fire Safe Council, under Director Cade Mohler.

Not Honey Lake Resource Conservation District, under Director Kelsey Siemer.

Protect Lassen is demanding change. We’re calling for independent environmental testing — funded by the same public money used to spray these chemicals.

We’re not asking them to test themselves. We’re doing it ourselves.
