Hexazinone Contamination Mishandled by DPR Officer Brian Orlando

Drinking-Water Contamination Mishandled by DPR Enforcement Officer

A full Protect Lassen investigative report on DPR Enforcement Officer Brian Orlando is coming soon. A formal misconduct complaint has already been submitted to DPR leadership, detailing Orlando’s misclassification of drinking-water contamination samples, chain-of-custody irregularities, and failure to follow mandatory enforcement protocols. DPR assigned all samples from this contamination event to the lowest priority level, despite confirmed human exposure, visible drift damage documented by DPR scientists, and pre-existing lab results showing hexazinone in drinking water and pond sediment. Protect Lassen is now awaiting DPR’s response and required corrective actions, and additional findings will be released as the investigation moves forward.

Will DPR Director Karen Morrison investigate this or sweep it under the rug?
